Hey guys its been a couple of months since i posted. Sorry google i had to give off my G1 (ADP1) in the mean time and also sell off my iPhone, in exchange for a piece of art... the BlackBerry Javelin or the 8900 Curve. I have been busy with this & I am loving this thing .. Anyone planning to buy a phone, you might consider buying this one for its amazing Mailing, IM and Multimedia capabilities. And the best part is its the Blackberry OS 4.6 .. and the 5.0 is coming up soon !!!

Priced approximately Rs. 20,500, you can grab this one at almost any Nokia dealer out there. Apple Inc has been in operations for more than 3 decades. It was officially started on April 1st 1976 by 2 college grads, Steve Jobs & Steve Wozniak. They started their preliminary operations in a garage. Apple has had a huge profile of products in their 33 years of operations. It would rather be very difficult or rare to see some of their cool gadgets.

I found this video in youtube, which shows different Apple products right from its birth. Its a WOW from my side after seeing this compilation. I wish i was born sometime in the 60s atleast, in the Silicon Valley. Check out the video over a glass of water.

The Dev- team has done it once again. They have managed to crack (software unlock) the iPhone 3g after so many months of hardwork and dedication. It is called the "pwnage tool". iPhone 3g escaped the software unlocking for all these months. The cat and mouse game has again started. Amazing guys, we are really proud of you.

India will be proud of you. The phone costs Rs.31,000 now. The price may come down pretty soon because people can now buy the phone in the US for Rs.8000 and unlock it with any career within seconds.

They are planning the release of this free unlock on the new years eve. What a gift baby !!!

Nokia 5800 Tube !! - out of the box

One of the most anticipated Nokia device of the year "5800" gets unboxed royally. Releasing in India in Jan 09 for a price of Rs.21,000 (approx). Many stores in India have started showing demo for this phone already.

But the main question is : Will people accept Nokia's Touch screen concept (this is the second nokia touch device. the first is Nokia 7710).. its after-all a resistive touch screen. What is the idea behind Nokia releasing this resistive touch screen when the market wants Capacitive touchscreens like the iPhone and the G1 ?

Nokia N97 becoming reality soon

The Nokia N97 is definitely one of the most loaded N-series devices out there, but that's not it's all about. The N97 is the first high-end device powered by the latest touchscreen Symbian S60 OS. And if the 3.5-inch touchscreen display is not enough for you, you can always slide-and-tilt it up so the large full QWERTY keyboard gets revealed.

The N97 boasts the following features :

32GB of internal memory
5 megapixel camera,
Wi-Fi, GPS
touch-enabled Nokia Maps with a digital compass
accelerometer for auto screen rotation

There is a lot of buzz out there comparing this one with the iPhone. iPhone wins all the other touch enables phones with its amazingly designed glass screen. The Nokia N97 will be available in 1st half of 2009, at an approximate estimated price of Rs.33,000 (550 euros) before subsidies and taxes.

Lets wait and watch if the symbian giant eats the Apples this time..

Unlocked HTC G1 for Developers - Shipping charge is almost touching the sky

Google is offering an unlocked Android phone, targeted at developers but available to anyone. While the phone might be attractive to consumers and developers alike in the U.S., its price in other countries is putting off even developers.

The Android Dev Phone 1 can be used on any compatible network, unlike the G1, the first Android phone on the market that works only on T-Mobile's networks in the U.S. and the U.K. Developers can load their own applications onto the phone for testing. Previously, developers had to buy the G1 and subscribe to T-Mobile's plans if they wanted to test out their applications on a phone before adding their software to the public Android Market.

The Android Dev Phone 1 costs US$399 (Rs.19500). It is only available to registered Android developers; anyone can register as a developer for a $25 fee.

Google is selling the phone in 18 markets, including Japan, India, Taiwan, Spain, Australia, Singapore, Poland and Hungary. But the price of the phone is significantly higher in most countries outside of the U.S. because it appears that the phones will all be shipped from the U.S. Developers on an Android forum are complaining about large customs fees that they are being charged when purchasing the phone. One Canadian developer, who says he lives 5 kilometers from the U.S. border, said customs fees would add $264 to the cost of the phone; to ship to France costs an additional $183, according to another developer. And ship to India its $224 (Rs.11,000 approx).

The total charge comes to $663 (Rs.32487). I completed the first two steps of the buying process, but then seeing the shipping charge, i decided to wait.

iPhone sort of crash lands in India - but it still the best phone

Launch of Apple's iconic iPhone in India on August 22 had fuelled speculation of similar frenzy that had followed its launch in the US, in July.

But the high Indian price tag seemed to douse the appetite of the Indian middle class which Apple thought would have given an arm and a leg to own the ultimate piece-de-resistance. The high price definitely disappointed iPhone lovers and aspirants alike, and Apple was lambasted for having got its strategy all wrong in this price-sensitive part of the geography.

Now, it appears the doomsdayers may have been right after all. According to a media report, Apple has been able to sell no more than 12,000 iPhones in the country as against an inventory of 50,000 that its two resellers in India -- Bharti Airtel and Vodaphone Essar -- had piled up here. Apple has been mum on how many units have been sold in India ever since its launch.

New year is coming very soon... Can we expect a new price... a low price tag.. we don't mind 1 or 2 months contract with the service provider.

Apple ibangle - Not a phone but a great concept

The iBangle is a vision of a future iPod where the devices have become darn close to becoming Jewellery. If you factor in inflation and the cost of Apple products today -we might as well call it jewellery because it’ll cost as much. iBangle is a thin piece of aluminum of course with a multi-touch track pad. To achieve the perfect fit, a cushion inside the ring inflates to keep itself tight against your wrist. Unisex? Maybe :-)

If this concept becomes reality, it would be just mater of time before a phone is rolled in along with this. LeTs WaIt n WaTcH !

"3g" kicks off in India

India today made its tryst with 3G mobile services with the launch of ‘Jadoo’, a service to be provided by the state-owned Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL).The service is currently available to select high-end users of MTNL mobile services in Delhi, while the commercial launch is expected in February.Jadoo provides an array of choices to its subscribers — high-speed internet on mobile, video-calling, video surveillance and live TV. The service was inaugurated by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in Delhi today.

“The customers will have to buy a separate SIM card for 3G services. Existing customers will be able to retain their number,” said an MTNL official.

“This service is much faster than what the subscribers have experienced. Compared with the GPRS services on phones or broadband, video and audio streaming here is much faster and also makes for a better viewing,” the official addedMTNL will have the first-mover advantage in the 3G space in Delhi and Mumbai, while Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd will enjoy the dominance in the rest of the country. The auctions for the 3G spectrum for the private players are likely to be completed in February 2009.

Android is a software platform and operating system for mobile devices, based on the linux kernel , developed by Google and later the Open Handset Alliance. It allows developers to write managed code in the Java Language, controlling the phone via Google-developed Java libraries,. The unveiling of the Android platform on 5 November 2007 was announced with the founding of the Open Handset Alliance, a consortium of 47 hardware, software, and telecom companies devoted to advancing open standards for mobile devices. Google has made most of the Android platform available under the Apache free-software and open source license.

T-Mobile G1

The T-Mobile G1 was the first phone to the market that uses the Android platform.The phone is part of an open standards effort of the Open Handset Alliance.It was released in the US on October 22, 2008, in the UK on October 30, 2008, and will be available in other European countries including Germany, Netherlands and the Czech Republic in early 2009.

Hi geek world and the normal world too,

My name is Sridhar Suresh.. people call me apple for a reason i dont know.. may be i am too much of an apple fanboy.. Since i am from India, people are not much aware of apple products here.. but now apple revolution is hitting every corner with the release of iPhone..

But my case is a bit different.. i liked apple computers from the day i was born.. and a windows hater..

I am loving the android thing too.. placed my order for an android dev phone 1. but later cancelled it due to high shipping charges form the US.

My work side of life is into SAP .. am a certified consultant for retail , passionate about that bit of revolutionary software..

To be honest, am not showing my pride or anything.. am just a normal guy .. am happy to show my passion..

Lastly i am bit of a geek..i like almost any gadget that has been made in this world, with pure manufacturing and technology (not those fakes).. thats why i am starting this blog.. you will find a lot of interesting gadgets and latest technology aspects too.. and also i will taking help of my cousins & friends to help me get updates..
